As the spring semester gets under way, students may notice new professors around campus. With many talented professors who seek to instill their experiences into the education of students at Sierra Nevada College, comes new classes.

Parking regulations to be enforced at SNC

This semester, as in years past, Sierra Nevada College security will once again be ticketing cars parked in illegal spaces or without a SNC car registration sticker. Last semester the school was lenient on enforcing the parking regulations. Because of this people took advantage and began either parking in illegal spots or even making their own.

Dan Gathy, director of facilities and maintenance, explained why they are once again enforcing the parking regulations.

Students rock fitness through rock climbing

Many Sierra Nevada College students do not have trouble overcoming the winter blues because of all the great outdoor activities Tahoe has to offer. Even on those days when conditions are bad and going outside is not appealing, students still have the option to do something fun and challenging indoors at High Altitude Fitness’s new rock climbing wall.

Oftentimes, we are not privy to the thoughts of those among us who become resident assistants. Rarely are we made aware of who they are as individuals or the motivations which led to them to undertake their responsibilities.

Marvin Blake, a 20-year-old sophomore, is the newest RA at Sierra Nevada College this semester. A friendly individual who speaks his mind, Blake shared much about himself between bites of an immense sandwich.

Born in Long Beach, Calif., he moved to South Central Los Angeles, Calif. when he was 3 years old.
