50th Anniversary Bonnanza Convention to be held in Lake Tahoe

Fans, cast members, writers and crew to attend

March 1, 2009, Lake Tahoe NV.  Bonanza Convention Inc announced today that the 50th Anniversary of the hit 1960’s television series will be held at the Horizon Casino Resort Hotel in Lake Tahoe, Nevada on September 10 – 14, 2009.  Registration for the convention is now open at www.bonanza-convention.com/.

This is the 4th Bonanza Convention to be held celebrating one of the longest running television series in history, Bonanza, which ran from September 10, 1959 until 1973.  The series starred Michael Landon, Lorne Greene, Dan Blocker and Pernell Roberts as the Cartwright family of the Ponderosa Ranch in Nevada. This year’s Convention will feature appearances by Mitch Vogel, who played the Cartwright’s adopted son Jamie, and six time guest star Gregory Walcott, who starred in numerous television series and movies including Dallas, Laramie, Rawhide and Plan 9 from Outer Space.  From the television series Ponderosa, which ran from 2001-2002, stars Matt Carmody and Drew Powell will also be attending the convention.

The Incline Village and Crystal Bay Historical Society opens it new space.



The Incline Village and Crystal Bay Historical Society has reopened its History Exhibit, “One Hundred Years of History – 1870-1970” across the hall from Starbucks and is open daily.

Lead by exhibit designers Michelle Schmitter and Andria Daley with expert assistance by Cheryl Evans, the Exhibit features new panels and a gracious loan of ‘Bill The Lion’ by Bill Watson and the Thunderbird Lodge. Gary Prosenko reconstructed the wonderful train and logging exhibit and Dave Richard put together the log wall.

Historical Society hopes to open next weekend

After moving from its Southwood location, Chuck Greene feels like everything should be ready to open by February 14th.

It also marked the day that it entered its new home.
