By Staff Reports On 29.03.09
For the second season in a row, Diamond Peak Ski Resort held an advanced race as part of the annual Uphill Race. The advanced race is a route from the base of the mountain to the peak of Crystal Express, and then down the Crystal Ridge trail back to the top of the mid-mountain Snowflake Lodge. The whole route is 2.7 miles. This year, Peter Hanson made it through the race in 38 minutes — 18 minutes faster than last year’s competitor Nate Hobbs!
The annual Uphill Race on Saturday, March 28, was an exciting race with a total of 21 people trying to make it up to Snowflake Lodge as fast as they could self-propelled. Tom Milhoff won the regular race with a time of 11 minutes. A continental breakfast and awards ceremony followed with prizes from Crosby’s, Big Water Grille, Aloha Skin Spa and Snowbomb.
